Dutch mobile self-erecting tower crane manufacturer Spierings has appointed Herald Wattenberg as commercial Director.
In this new role Wattenburg will work with the sales and marketing team to increase Spierings' international presence, while freeing up chief executive Koos Spierings to focus on running the overall business.
He joins the company from sheet piling manufacturer Meever where he has director of strategy for the past 18 months. He started his working life a holiday worker for engineering, consulting and construction firm KCI, something he repeated every year for five years. When he completed his studies in 2001 he found a job with Stork Food Systems as a sales engineer in its food processing retrofit division.
After three and a half years he departed for International Construction Equipment, which sells Pile driving equipment, where became area manager for the Caspian region and Asia, with a strong focus on China, Singapore, Turkey and India.
In 2011 he transferred to the holding company Dieseko as international sales director. After almost eight years in the role, he was transferred to the PVE division in the USA, initially as commercial director and then director of US operations. In 2022 he moved back to the Netherlands to become offshore director for Dieseko, leaving after six months for Meever.
Chief executive Koos Spierings said: "We are ready for this next step towards the future with Herald's extensive international experience in machinery and metal. I am convinced that he is the right person to further position Spierings in Europe and beyond."
