New board member for IPAF

Rahul Seth, the managing director of the Indian based Sudhir Group has been seconded to the IPAF board of directors. The appointment will be put to vote by the members at the next Annual General Meeting next March.

Rahul Seth is a second generation to take the helm at Sudhir, having taken over the day to day m,anagement of the business in 1997, and has been instrumental its strong growth and overseas expansion. The business was set up by Sudhir Seth in 1973 as a power generation specialist, whcih it now manufactures, distributes and rents, before moving into aerial work platform rentals. It has also gone on to develop a strong presence in the Middle East where it has operations in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, before moving into the European market in 2020, with the acquisition of UK based Star Platforms. Today it generates revenues in the region of $400 million, and operates from 20 locations across the four countries, with 4,000 employees and a global rental fleet that includes 6,500 aerial work platforms, 3,000 generators and1,000 forklifts, telehandlers and pallet trucks etc…

Seth has also become something of a philanthropist, helping set up a large skills development centre with a capacity for 1,000 students to study and obtain usable working skills. While the Sudhir foundation has several programmes to support those in need, and promotes wider education.
