Sinoboom upgrades s RT scissor lifts

Sinoboom has announced upgrades to four models in its range of Rough Terrain scissor lifts.

The upgraded models are the 43ft 1323RD and 1323RE in North America they become the 4389RD, 4389RE, along with 53ft 1623RD, and 1623RE - 5389RD and 5389RE – essentially two models, one of which is diesel powered the other all electric. As with the current machines they offer a 680kg platform capacity, with maximum working heights of 15.1 and 18.2 metres respectively.

The main changes for the second generation models are tweaks to the drive train that are said to deliver a 20 percent improvement in torque a real life gradeability performance. As part of the change the wheelbase has been extended a little, while deep tread tyres are now fitted as standard and the overall weight reduced slightly, all of which has cut the ground bearing pressure by around 10 percent in addition to the rough terrain performance gains, while the stabiliser jacks have a wider span.

Other changes include a new design for the roll out deck extension mechanism, making it smoother and easier to use, while now also being able to be locked in any extension. The popular 7.4 metre super deck option - which featrues the same 1.82 and 1.1 metre extensions, but with a longer fixed platform - remains available in place of the standard 6.5 metre extended platform.
The lower controls have been upgraded to an electric control box, with an optimised wiring harness and simplified components and a small door has been added for greater protection water and dust, while a fuel level detection function has been added to prevent the diesel tank being run dry.

Product manager Jane He said: “The advantages introduced to this new generation of Rough Terrain scissor lifts are designed to meet real world needs. We listen carefully to the feedback from our partners and customers on their experiences of owning and operating Sinoboom machines, and the features they would like to see. We integrate this information into our R&D process to ensure that Sinoboom equipment continues to support safe and reliable work at height.”
