A truck crane overturned on Wednesday, February 5th, at the Mitza lime processing plant in Progreso, a port on the Yucatán Peninsula near Cancún. One man died and another was seriously injured, when the crane boom came down on a buidling where people were taking a break and the factory.

We have been told that the operator was setting up and testing before carrying out a lift, it looks as though the outriggers on one side were not extended, or punched through the ground, although it is possible that they were pushed in as the crane went over.
We are hoping to learn more over the next week or so and will update when we do.
