Four German rental companies have taken delivery of pink Merlo 50.26 360 degree telehandlers to raise awareness for breast cancer charities. The four new machines have been delivered to Wiegers Gabelstapler in Marsberg - east of Dortmund, Gebrüder Peiffer and Anton Hülsken in Grevenbroich - south of Dusseldorf and Bleser Mietstation in Neuwied - near Koblenz, which has supported the cause for several years with this being their fourth pink machine
With a five section boom, the Merlo 50.26 has maximum lifting height of 25.9 metres and load capacity of 4950kg, it offers a maximum outreach of 22.9 metres at a capacity of 150kg. It can handle its maximum load at an outreach of seven metres or at a height of 9.7 metres. Overall weight is 16,600kg.

Wiegers managing director, Andreas Wiegers said: “The 50.26 is our most popular Merlo rental machine. We already have 26 machines of this model in our rental fleet and now one is helping fight breast cancer. We are happy to contribute to raising awareness and drawing attention to the cause.”

“We experience a range of different reactions to the pink machine, regular customers can often specifically request the special machine, sometimes they will also make an additional donation to the charity. If the Pink Merlo telehandler arrives on a construction site, there is often much surprised eye rubbing and comments from those on site. If we explain the background, we usually experience positive feedback.”
According to the Centre for Cancer Registry Data, 70,000 women and 700 men are diagnosed with the disease each year.
