Manitowoc’s wholly owned sales and service subsidiary, MGX Equipment Services opened its new 2,300 square metre (24,000sq.ft) purpose built facility in Geismar on the south side of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with an open house event last week.
The move into the new purpose built facility was largely completed by September 16th and is now in full operation. The location was chosen for its ease of access to the growing Baton Rouge metro area as well as southern Louisiana, in order to meet a growing demand in the region.
Chad Everett has been appointed as branch manager for the new location, having joined MGX from H&E in 2021, where he was crane branch manager. He has a long career in equipment rental and distribution having worked with Blueline/United Rentals, Herc and JPS Rental before joining H&E in 2020.
The new facility includes eight shop bays, an onsite parts inventory and plenty of space for equipment storage and other maintenance work.
Speaking of the new building Everett said: “This new facility reflects our commitment to our customers in the Baton Rouge area and southern Louisiana, region. With more space, additional bays and on-site parts, we can offer faster service, greater convenience and the expert support our customers depend on and expect.”
