UK rental company J&M Crane & Transport has taken delivery of a 100 tonne 4100L-2 Grove All Terrain crane.
The GMK4100L-2 features a 60 metre seven section main boom, topped by a 9.7 to 16 metre hydraulic luffing bi-fold swingaway extension, an additional eight metre insert is available that can be installed between the boom nose and swingaway, for a maximum tip height of 89 metres. The crane carrier has an overall width of 2.55 metres, and an overall length of 11.18 metres. It can carry up to 6.8 tonnes of its 26 tonnes maximum counterweight within 12 tonne axle loads, or 21.2 tonnes with the UK's maximum 16.5 tonne axle loads, including the all wheel drive option. Power comes from a fuel efficient Stage V Mercedes diesel, with ECO mode, and 100 percent HVO fuel compatibility.
Lifting supervisor Ben Lawrence said: "We are thrilled to bringing another Grove machine on to our fleet. The machines capability speaks for itself especially running with 21.2 tonne ballast on the road. The hydraulic fly is great for some of the tight sites and restricted projects that we are involved with. The GMK4100L-2 fits in nicely alongside our other four axle machines and having the same operating systems as the 3060L-1, 5150L and 5250L it helps with the operators."
J&M operates from Gravesend, Kent and has been in business for over 68 years. It runs a fleet ranging from 35 to 250 tonne All Terrain cranes as well as a fleet of transport equipment and forklifts.
