The new crane can lift up to 154 tonnes on its 61 metre boom to a height of 49 metres. It will be used for handling steel products including coils, sheets and strips at the company's Ravenna port facility, south of Venice.
The crane's superstructure features custom artwork combining maritime elements from both Rostock and Ravenna, including the Basilica di Sant'Apollinare Nuovo and dock workers.

Marcegaglia purchased its first mobile harbour crane in 2001, an LHM 400. The new crane will be officially handed over during a ceremony planned for this summer.
