German crane rental company Jandt has taken delivery of a 60 tonne LTM 1060-3.1 All Terrain crane, with a 55 tonne LTM 1055-3.3 and 400 tonne LTM 1400-6.1 on order.
The LTM 1060-3.1 handover
The three axle LTM 1060-3.1 is replacing one of three older 60 tonne models in the company’s fleet. It is equipped with a six section 48 metre boom, topped by a 9.5 to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension which takes the maximum tip height to more than 67 metres, while also offering up to 40 degrees of offset. A special swingaway extension has also been ordered for work in confined spaces, such as installing overhead crane runways.

Joint managing director Jens Lübeck, who travelled to Liebherr’s plant in Ehingen to collect the crane said: “We already operate three LTM 1060-3.1s in our fleet. The crane is a powerful three axle crane that can be used for jobs from building houses to installing air conditioning units in industrial applications. The compact crane is even in high demand for putting up Christmas trees, as this usually involves working in confined spaces.”
Jandt's first Liebherr crane
The company entered the crane market in the 1960s initially to support its other activities, which include building and civil engineering, overhead crane installation, steel and concrete erection, machinery moving and installation.
Jandt - managed by the Diercks and Lübeck families - operates from a facility in Bielefeld-Quelle with additional branches in Bad Salzuflen, Detmold, Gütersloh and Holzminden and a fleet of around 40 cranes. A new generation in the form of Sven Diercks and Jens Lübecktook over the day to day management of the company at the start of January, and are now planning further expansion.
