Kiloutou acquires Mavyal

French International rental group Kiloutou has acquired northern Spanish sales and rental company Mavyal (Maquinaria Venta Y Alquiler Norte), including its wholly owned subsidiary Suministros Zelai.

This move adds six additional locations to Kiloutou Spain’s network in the regions of La Rioja, Aragon, Castile and León, and the Basque Country, significantly strengthening its coverage in the north of the country.

Founded in 1987, Mavyal is based in Logroño south east of Bilbao and runs a mixed fleet of around 3,500 machines, including a wide range of self-propelled booms lifts, scissors, mast booms, spider lifts and truck mounted work platforms, along with telehandlers, forklifts and scaffolding services, with 45 employees. The Mayval branches and employees will be integrated into the Kiloutou Spain business, taking its depot network to 67 branches and almost 550 employees.

The transaction has already been approved by CNMC, the Spanish Merger Control Authority.
Kiloutou entered the Spanish market in 2015 with the acquisition of Rentecnika, followed by several other acquisitions, the most recent being Liftisa and Gloobal 12 months ago.
Kiloutou group chief executive Olivier Colleau said: “The acquisition of Mavyal demonstrates our commitment to continuing our growth in Spain, and more broadly across Europe, by positioning ourselves in high potential geographic areas. In just one year, we have succeeded in bringing together high quality players whose DNA perfectly aligns with that of our group”.
Cyril Brillouet, managing director of Kiloutou Spain, added: “We wanted to continue our development in the north of the country alongside a strong local player. The acquisition of Mavyal fulfils this ambition. Our goal is to achieve national coverage by combining local expertise with a wide range of general and specialised equipment to support our customers in their construction projects. I am delighted to welcome the 45 members of the Mavyal team to Kiloutou’s Spanish subsidiary.”

Kiloutou is aiming to be the leader in the top three markets where it operates and to increase its business outside France to around 50 percent of its revenues. It currently operates in Germany, Denmark, Spain, France, Italy, Poland, and Portugal, with more than 7,000 employees across 600 branches.
