UK rental company Wire Cranes and Lifting has taken delivery of a six tonne/ 48 meter Böcker AK48 truck mounted crane.

The AK 48 - launched at Bauma 2022 - features a four section main boom plus a three section telescopic jib for a maximum tip height of 49 metres with a maximum radius of 40 metres. It can handle its maximum capacity at eight metres radius and take1.5 tonnes to a height of 27.5 metres and a radius of 24 metres. When used as a work platform, it offers a maximum platform capacity of 350kg, with a 48 metre working height.
Wire Cranes managing director, Andy Unsworth said: "The Böcker AK48 is a real step forward for our growing fleet, giving us greater flexibility with its standard lifting, vertical tower mode and the added aerial work platform capability. It allows us to offer our clients the most up-to-date technology on the market.”
Founded in 2023, Wire Cranes and Lifting is based in Warrington, North West England, and runs a fleet of All Terrain cranes from 35 to 500 tonnes as well as mobile self-erecting tower cranes and spider cranes.
