Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam in the Netherlands has ordered another 12 Huisman Automated Stacking Cranes has ordered 12 more Huisman Automated Stacking Cranes, following a previous delivery of six units.
The cranes feature a maximum capacity of 41 tonnes, a stacking height of one over five or one over six containers, with a maximum stack width of up to 11 containers. The crane is designed for a lifespan of over 4,000,000 handling cycles, with all major components rated for more than 50,000 running hours. Of the initial delivery, three cranes are already operational, while the remaining three are in the commissioning and testing phase and are expected to enter operation later this month.

For this order, Huisman will again divide production across its European facilities. Welding and pre-assembly will take place in the Czech Republic, with final assembly at Huisman’s facility in Schiedam, the Netherlands. Commissioning and testing will be carried out at the ECT Delta Terminal on the Maasvlakte in the Port of Rotterdam.
Huisman business line manager Mike van Wingerden said: “ECT’s decision to order a second series of our ASCs underscores the strong trust built through our close cooperation over the past year.”
Established in 1966, ECT is part of Hutchison Ports, a global port network owned by Hong Kong based CK Hutchison Holdings, the company operates the ECT Delta and ECT Euromax Terminals on the Maasvlakte on the North sea.
