Mike Hunt in 1994 during his days at EPL

Hunt will be particularly remembered for his time at access rental company EPL Plant & Access Hire, a division of John Laing and the time, where he worked for more than 40 years. He was also the seventh president of IPAF, serving from 1994 to 1996.

His last appearance at an industry event was several years ago, due to the debilitating nature of his illness, which has confined him to bed for the past two years.

He leaves behind a widow, Carol, his daughter Kirsty, his son Jonathan and stepchildren Ben and Sam. He would have been 65 on November 5th.

His funeral will be held on November 2nd at the Norse Road Crematorium, 104 Norse Road, Bedford, at 14:30.

The service will be open, and his wife Carol has said that friends and colleagues are most welcome to attend.

We will be publishing an obituary for Mike Hunt in the next issue of Cranes&Access and would appreciate any input and comments from those who knew him.

Many of us will remember his quick wit and big smile. Even though he has been out of the industry for 10 years, he is still fondly remembered by a large number of those in the industry.
