Manitowoc has given $50,000 to women’s charity Brooke’s House following Conexpo where it set up a basketball hoop and pledged to donate $25 for every basket successfully made by visitors to the stand.
The donation is handed over
Visitors are reported to have made more than 2,000 baskets, resulting in a large donation to Brooke’s house - a nonprofit that aids women with their substance abuse and recovery efforts. Manitowoc has supported the charity since 2020 with 20 graduates from Brooke’s house now working for the company.
Last year, Manitowoc also supported the charity through limited edition t-shirts and offered six week welding classes to women in the programme providing them with skills and future career options.

Manitowoc’s senior vice president of sales, Dave Hull, said: “We like to think of this as more than financial support, we are also helping create life changing employment opportunities for the women of Brooke’s House.”
