UK vehicle mounted aerial lift manufacturer Aldercote has opened Aldercote Ireland, a joint venture distribution operation with Mooretown Precision Engineering (MPE).
The new business will be based at MPE's headquarters in Ratoath, County Meath, near Dublin, and will mount Aldercote supersructures on locally sourced vehicles, while also providing sales, and after sales support across Ireland.
Aldercote will manufacture platform kits in Hull, East Yorkshire, and ship them to Ireland for installation. The new venture will also hold spare parts inventory for maintenance and repairs.
Aldercote managing director Marc Paish said: “We have been proud to serve customers in Ireland for some years, and have seen a real appetite for what Aldercote offers. With the launch of our new business, we are offering our Irish customers a truly local service, backed by the manufacturing quality and technical expertise they already know us for.”

MPE director, Cian Carey added: “MPE has built a strong relationship with Aldercote over the past decade, and we are delighted to go into business together on a formal basis. The launch of Aldercote Ireland is the natural next step and reflects the strength of our working relationship.”
Aldercote was established in 1999 by directors David and Paul Dillon (members of the Dillon family that previously owned Powered Access Platforms/ Priestman Powered Access) initially as a vehicle engineering specialist, producing aircraft de-icers and washers. It built its first platform, the PA128 van mounted lift, in 2003 and decided to focus entirely on the aerial work platforms in 2018.
Established in 1999, family run Mooretown specialises in manufacturing, truck body installation and aerial lift maintenance. Its customers include local authorities, utility companies, electrical contractors, rental companies and end users. And since 2019, it has been a service provider for Versalift.
