A Geda 500 Z/ZP transport platform is being used for ongoing maintenance and façade renovation work at the Semperoper opera house in Dresden, Germany.
The opera house undergoing maintenance work
The project includes work in multiple areas of the building, including the stage, entrance areas, the Zwinger side entrance and stairwell, and external walls. Façade work includes sealing sections of the exterior walls and applying a bitumen layer behind the sandstone plinth. Repairs are also being made to the sandstone balustrade at the Theaterplatz entrance.
The hoist is currently located on the right hand side of the building
The hoist - supplied by Geda partner BNS Baumaschinen - can be used as a material lift, offering a 1,000kg capacity at a speed of 24 metres a minute, or as a passenger & materials lift with 500kg/ five people maximum capacity at 12 metres a minute. It was initially installed on the left-hand side of the building and has since been moved to the right-hand side to support the next phase of the work set to begin imminently.
