Spotted last week by a reader from Manchester, UK, a man pressure washing the pitched roof of a house in Greater Manchester.
In his own words, “Watching a man jet wash a roof with no fall protection from my home office window. I can't fathom the logic in risking your life for what I imagine is about £25 for a harness and lanyard.”
Pressure washing moss and other growth from roofs is a rapidly growing industry in the UK, and thankfully, it employs a wide range of aerial work platforms, but the majority usually resort to tactics like this. But it has to be said that in most examples we have seen, some form of fall protection is used - steep slopes and water rarely mix, no matter how grippy your boots are.
Definitely one for our Death Wish series.
Have a safe weekend.
