New COO for Sims

US based Sims Crane & Equipment has promoted Mike Kuffermann as chief operating officer.

Kuffermann joined Sims at the very end of 2008 as strategic operations manager and was promoted to vice president fleet operations in 2023. Earlier this year he was promoted to chief sales officer, with responsibility for leading Sims’ sales strategy and growth initiatives.In his first 17 years with Kuffermann's responsibilities have included service operations, dispatch and outside sales.

Kuffermann represents a second generation family connection to Sims Crane. His father, Kurt Kuffermann, spent more than 30 years with the company and served as vice president and general manager of operations before retiring in 2016.

Chief executive Deborah Weber said: "Mike has grown with this company from the ground up, and there is no one better prepared to lead our operations into the next chapter. His disciplined, people first leadership and deep understanding of every corner of our business make him exactly the right choice for chief operating officer."

Founded in 1959, Tampa, Florida based Sims Crane & Equipment operates from 15 outlets in Florida: Tampa, Broward, Fort Myers, Jacksonville, Lake City, Miami, Mulberry, Ocala, Orlando, Panama City, Pinellas, Space Coast, Tallahassee, Vero Beach and West Palm Beach. Along with a location in Atlanta, Georgia.
