An Spierings makes it 20

UK rental company Bray cranes has taken delivery of its 20th crane, a Spierings SK1265-AT6 eLift self-erecting mobile tower crane.

The six axle SK1265-AT6 eLift has a maximum capacity of 10 tonnes at a radius of more than 13 metres, while the 60 metre jib has a 1,700kg jib tip capacity at a 35 metre horizontal jib height. Maximum lift height is 64.2 metres with the jib luffed to 30 degrees.

The eLift system allows the crane to plug into a wide range of mains power outlets ranging from 11 to 25 or 32Amp, with the available power passing through a Lithium-ion battery ‘PowerPack’ which absorbs the peaks in energy draw-down from the crane, allowing the connection to regular domestic outlets without sacrificing performance. When the power demand from the crane is low, the battery pack is recharged. The crane is also equipped with a small diesel engine which generates the electrical power when a mains outlet is not available.

Based in Birtley to the south of Gateshead and Newcastle in the north of England, family run Bray Cranes was established in the early 1950s as Reeds Cranes. Today the rental fleet ranges from a four tonne Böcker aluminium truck crane to small Kato City type All Terrains, up to a 150 tonne, five axle Liebherr LTM 1150-5.3.

The company operates throughout the north east of England.
