A first for Wire Cranes

UK rental company Wire Cranes has taken delivery of the UK’s first 90 tonne LTM 1090-4.3 All Terrain crane, following its display on the Liebherr stand at Vertikal Days

The updated and improved LTM 1090-4.3 was unveiled at Conexpo earlier this year, replacing the LTM 1090-4.2, which dates back to 2017. The updated crane features increased capacity on its 60 metre main boom, plus a 9.5 to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension with manual offset to offer a maximum tip height of just under 80 metres. It can be configured with axle loads of 10, 12 or 16 tonnes, and up to 8.8 tonnes of counterweight can be carried within 12 tonne axle loadings. It is also equipped with the Liccon3 control system.

Wire Cranes’ managing director Andy Unsworth said: “When we started Wire Cranes in 2023, investing in the newest and most capable equipment was always part of our business plan, ino order to offer our clients the most up to date, innovative machines on the market. Being the first company in the UK to take the LTM 1090-4.3 is a real milestone for us. It gives our team even more capability to support clients across projects nationwide. We were proud to showcase it alongside Liebherr at Vertikal Days.”

Founded in 2023, Wire Cranes and Lifting is based in Warrington, Northwest England, and runs a fleet of All Terrain cranes from 35 to 500 tonnes as well as mobile self-erecting tower cranes and spider cranes. It operates within the general construction, infrastructure and industrial sectors.
