New head for Sarens USA

Belgian international crane and heavy lift group Sarens has appointed Victor Martinez as country manager for the United States.

In his new role he will be responsible for the company's strategy and operations throughout the USA. and the implementation of a fleet modernisation and sustainability programme that will see a move towards more energy efficient and cleaner equipment and methods.

He joins the company from South Carolina based construction site services company Ameco where he has been strategic account director for the Gulf Coast region for the past four years, based in Houston.

He began his construction related career in 1998 with Ameco in Mexico, moving up through increasingly senior roles, including director of the industrial division, site and fleet services until 2008 when he was transferred to the groups headquarters in Greenville South Carolina as director of global accounts. The following year he moved back to Mexico as vice president of sales for Mexica and central America.

In 2016 he left the company for Equipment Depot where he was appointed general manager, leaving after two years for Mammoet where he was director of business development based in Houston. In 2021 he moved to a similar role at Denver based heavy lift company Crane Service, based in Houston, returning to Ameco a year later.

Sarens said: “Victor Martinez brings experience in heavy engineering, specialised over-dimensional transport, complex logistics, and technical operations. His background includes leading multidisciplinary teams, managing complex project portfolios, and overseeing the commercial and operational performance of heavy equipment fleets.”

Sarens is now active across 70 countries through more than 100 business operations and 6,500 employees in its crane rental, heavy lifting, heavy transportation and special rigging divisions.
