The first phase, is a new headquarters building for TII which is now complete, while existing production halls will be gradually dismantled and replaced with new buildings so that manufacturing, assembly and logistics processes can be completely redesigned and streamlined.

TII Group managing director Filippo Baldassarin said: "The TII Group has doubled its revenue over the past few years. Through the largest investment in our company's history, we are now creating the conditions needed to continue this successful journey.”

chairman Gerald Karch added: “In our new headquarters, we are bringing technical expertise, practical application experience and customer proximity even closer together. This enables us to translate customer requirements into intelligent vehicle solutions more quickly."

TII employs 600 people at Pfedelbach and more than 1,000 worldwide, and also has production facilities in Ulm, Germany, and in Bawal, India. It's origins date back to 1988, when Otto Rettenmaier, whose family had built the plant fibre business JRS, acquired Scheuerle, and he went on to add French manufacturer Nicolas in 1995, Kamag in 2004 and Indian subsidiary TII India in 2015.

The group is still owned by the Rettenmaier family through a holding company managed by his daughter Susanne Rettenmaier, while Nicolas’s home at Champs-sur-Yonne now operates as a sales and service centre for France. Otto Rettenmaier died in 2020, and the investment has been announced in the year that would have marked his 100th birthday.
