New sales director for Advanced

UK aerial lift rental company Advanced Access Platforms has appointed Tony Crawford as sales director.

He joins the company following more than 27 years with Mr Plant Hire, where he was sales & marketing director. He started out as an assistant manager when in his early 20s. Over the next 24 years or so, he moved up through the company to sales representative, powered access manager, general manager and in 2024 was appointed as interim managing director, in addition to his role as sales & marketing director. During which time he played a key role in the development of the business, both before and after it was acquired by AER.

He has also served as chairman of the Access Alliance, the UK association of independent regional rental companies, serving a two year term between 2016 and 2018.

Advanced managing director John Corcoran said:” We are delighted to welcome Tony to AAP as sales director and member of the executive board. He brings 30 years of industry experience with him, including his specialised knowledge of the low level access market.”

“This is particularly timely considering the fact that we have invested heavily in this market sector over the past 10 months, adding more than 1,000 push around lifts to our fleet. We have also already placed £6 million worth of orders this quarter for delivery in 2027 as we continue our ongoing expansion.”
