KR Wind chose the Liebherr LG1750 for its range of boom configurations that it says are well suited to wind turbine work. With a straight boom and it offers a lifting capacity of 100 tonnes at a hook height of 122 metres and 18 metres radius, making it ideal for turbines in the 3 MW class up to a hub height of 110 metres.

When fitted with a derrick boom, suspended ballast and a fixed jib it can lift 100 tonnes to a hook height of 152 metres, to cope with the increased hub heights now coming into use.

The crane can also handle 150 tonnes for work on 3.5 - 4 MW class wind turbines when fitted with shorter boom configurations.

KR Wind has also ordered three of the new 600 tonne Liebherr LR 1600/2 crawler cranes.
