IPS moves into new warehouse

Independent Parts and Service (IPS) the UK based access parts and service company has moved its UK Parts operation into a separate building.

The move is the latest in IPS’s strategic expansion plans, allowing it to enter 2008 with 325 square metres (3,500 sq ft) of space dedicated to parts sales.

The new location, some 200 metres from the company’s main office in Telford, Shropshire, provides a third more space for replacement parts inventory, for which the company offers next day shipping throughout the UK and overseas.

Sander Mellaard, IPS’s parts manager said: ‘It became apparent early this year that if parts sales continued to increase as rapidly as it has done over the last few years, we would need to look at alternative resources, such as bigger premises, to deal with the demand. Having the additional stocking space will considerably aid our efforts in providing our customers with a higher level of service and support’.

This expansion comes just 18 months after IPS moved its operation to the current 1,900 square metre (20,000 sq ft) facility. The company’s Service division with its national network of engineers and service support team will continue to operate from the existing location, with the recently vacated parts space being returned to a dedicated repair and refurbishment workshop.

Operations director, Kevin Shadbolt added: ‘We are delighted to be in a position to develop our parts division so quickly – we will now have the space to stock our ever increasing parts inventory, and the staff to continue to support our operation – with the aim to better our customer’s ordering experience’.
