JLG launches new telehandler

JLG’s new super-compact Telehandler, the five metre/2,500kg lift capacity 2505 was judged as one of the ‘best new products’ when it made its European debut this week in the UK at the LAMMA agricultural equipment show in Newark Nottinghamshire. It was runner up in the best new product award over £5,000, being highly commended and winning a medal of merit.

The new machine which weighs less than 5,000kgs offers a maximum lift height of 5.5 metres. Its major feature is of course its compact dimensions, with an overall width of 1.8 metres and height of only 1.9 metres, enabling it to work in extremely confined spaces, such as greenhouses, poultry sheds and low barns for farmers, and in busy distribution yards in the building materials and construction industry.

Given its compact dimensions the new product offers an alternative to skid steer loaders so JLG has incorporated a universal adaptor plate which enables it to take most skid-steer attachments, along with a wide range of purpose designed attachments from JLG.

The 2505 is one of the few truly trans-Atlantic telehandlers, the unit has been designed and will initially be built in North America and shipped to Europe. Compact European telehandlers are of course sold in North America, but very few American machines are saleable in Europe.
