Rob Hime joins MEC

Rob Hime has joined the MEC Aerial Work Platforms sales team covering the six states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky. Hime was previously with UpRight where he was senior VP of North American sales until the business was merged with Snorkel. .

Hime has 25 years equipment sales experience including 12 years in the aerial lift industry, most of it working with UpRight.

"I am excited to join MEC," said Hime. "I believe in the MEC products, which easily outperform the competition. I'm also impressed with the MEC staff and customer-first business culture. Selling MEC products is going to be fun.... As a matter of fact, the first scissor lift I ever sold was a MEC Hefty Herman 21 years ago."

Jim Tolle, president of the sales division of MEC said: "We are pleased to have Rob Hime on our sales team, with his experience and industry knowledge, coupled with the ruggedness and durability of our products, it's a great fit for our customers and future customers in that region. In other changes at MEC we understand that Steve Citron, previously director of business development, has left the company. Citron spent 20 years with Genie and a short spell with Bil-Jax before joining MEC in late 2007 to help develop its boom line.

MEC has also recruited Gary Crook to its engineering team, Crook has been working with Snorkel after having worked for a short spell with JLG. MEC has yet to confirm the Crook appointment and his role at the company, but his main experience is in the design of self propelled boom lifts.
