The boom of a mobile lattice crane collapsed yesterday while erecting steel on a site in North Raleigh, North Carolina. The crane which was rigged with around 24 metres of main boom, plus fly jib and was lifting four large RSJ beams when the accident happened.

The crane, a Link Belt, is owned by Roanoke Valley Steel, there were no injuries in the collapse at the six-story office building which is being built for Genworth Mortgage Insurance.
