Three men were injured on this weekend when a tower crane collapsed while being erected at a worksite in the Seef district of Manama, Bahrain.
Part of the 38 metre crane came crashing down onto the boundary wall with the Elite Grande Hotel, fortunately no one was seriously injured in the accident, although three migrant workers were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The ministry of labour has launched a preliminary investigation into the accident. Crystal Maintenance Company, the sub-contractor, said that it was co-operating with the investigation into the cause of the accident.
The company says that it is keeping an open mind although in a statement pointedly ruled out overloading. Given that the crane was being erected at the time, the cause is likely to have been related to an error in the erection sequence.
