Farm worker dies after "crane" fall

A man who fell about 30 feet as he worked on a farm building has died from his injuries. Mark Jones, 40, received head injuries after the machine supporting the platform from which he was working, became unstable and toppled over. Jones and another man were working on the roof of a building under construction at the time The other man a 21-year-old from Hereford, received major leg injuries. The driver of the "Machine" was unhurt.

The accident occurred at Hill Farm, Kinver Edge, Staffordshire, on Saturday. Jones, from Ludlow in Shropshire, was airlifted to Birmingham's Selly Oak Hospital, where he died on Tuesday.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has begun an investigation in an effort to find out how the accident happened.

The BBC reported that this was a crane, however reports locally suggest that this might have been some kind of forklift or telehandler?. The platfrom was a home made job, No further information is available at this time, but this makes a dreadful two week period for deaths from falls from height with at least four workers loosing their life.
