Dino spider
Dinolift’s first tracked spider lift, the Dino 185XTC is now ‘in the iron’ and undergoing testing and demonstrations.
The new model offers a maximum working height of 18.5 metres and up to 10.9 metres of outreach, albeit with just 80kgs in the platform. Maximum capacity is 215kgs, while the travel width is 1.15 metres. The 185 uses the heavy duty XT dual parallelogram linkage from the company’s wheeled self propelled model.

The boom is mounted to a compact tracked chassis with true spider outriggers which are capable of lifting the machine up to a metre off the ground, for excellent levelling capability on slopes or rough ground, but will also allow it to be self loaded onto a flat bed truck. The working footprint is just under 3.5 metres wide, and the unit weighs in at 3,000kgs.

Standard power is diesel giving 43 percent gradeability, while electric power is available as an option. Slew is 360 degrees continuous and the lift has a 1,300mm x 700mm basket with 90 degree each way rotation.
Vertikal Comment
Dino has been a touch slow in getting into the tracked spider lift market, which is not only growing rapidly, but still has a lot of growth in it. It is also almost certain to take sales away from the trailer lift market as users elect to tow spider lifts on a trailer and then have the compact dimensions and self propelled benefits once on site.
The new model looks very solid and will appeal to those buyers who like a more substantial machine, the specifications are similar to those of Omme and others at this height, although it sadly does not offer a little more, such as an undercarriage that retracts to under a metre, however it is likely to have a high build quality, offers 360 degree continuous rotation and its competitive in terms of overall weight, working footprint, outreach and power.
The availability of a spider lift, might also help the company find new distributors, which might take it into new markets, helping sales of its wheeled machines and trailer lifts.
