Penny and Hinowa go larger
Penny hydraulics and Hinowa have launched their second crawler mounted mini crane, the TP2000/FV1200 with 1.2 tonnes capacity and four section 4.3 metre boom.
As with the two companies first crane, the 630kgs HS400/V12, the TP2000/FV1200 has been jointly developed to create a cost effective and versatile lifting tool helping customers comply with current health and safety regulations. It is aimed at the plant hire, construction, utility, stonemasonry and arboriculture industries.
The unit is based on the Hinowa TP2000 tracked chassis and the Penny Hydraulics FV1200 fully hydraulic crane. Powered by a Honda GX390 petrol engine, the chassis can also be used with a wide range of attachments in addition to the crane, including a transport deck and fork lift.

The TP2000/FV1200 can handle 250gks at 4.3m
The crane picks its 1,200kg maximum capacity at 1.5 metres radius, and will take 450kg to 3.5 metres and 250kg to its full 4.3 metre extension. The crane can also pick & carry its full load chart.
The operator stands on a platform at the rear of the unit where he has a clear view of the crane, load and working area. All of the controls required to operate the unit are mounted on a console on at the front of the platform. All crane movements including slew, boom up/down and telescope are fully hydraulic
There is also a choice of electric or hydraulic winches, which are particularly useful for below ground work, or given this cranes weight, when working from elevated locations such as rooftops.
The TP2000/FV1200 unit has an overall length of 1,925mm, is 1,740mm wide and just over two metres high. Total weight is only 1,125kg ideal for transporting with standard two axle trailers.

With boom stowed the dimensions are 1.9m x 1.74m and 2m high
The crane’s boom is stowed almost vertically against the king post/turret for compact storage and transportation. An integrated hydraulic tank and motor/pump unit not only provides easy access for servicing, but also allows the crane to be demounted very easily so that the chassis can be used for other handling tasks such as a transport table or dumper.
