Cumberland Industries appointed Terex Utilities distributor

Kettering, UK, based Cumberland Industries has been officially appointed as Terex Utilities distributor for the UK, Ireland, Jordan and Iraq.

The agreement was finalised last Friday with Michael Tilden, international sales manager of Terex Utilities and Cumberland’s commercial director, Paul Murphy.

Tilden emphasised the need for Terex Utilities to have a stable partner, well resourced both in finance and technical expertise and with the ability to sustain and promote an important international brand within the insulated powered access market.

“Cumberland Industries is such a company and we look forward to working with them on what are important markets for Terex Utilities,” said Tilden.

Murphy maintains that the new distribution agreement proves that Cumberland Industries UK has arrived onto the big stage.
“Although we are a young company we have a wealth of experience in the access industry,” said Murphy. “We are currently completing, on schedule, an order for the largest number of Terex Utilities 38 metre insulated platforms to 49kV outside of the USA.”

Cumberland Industries UK has high hopes of further orders and has recently signed the lease on premises next door to accommodate further expansion. There are a number of new projects in the pipeline, most notably on a new boom to be mounted on the Land Rover.
