IPS/Snorkel service JV in Oz
UK based Independent Parts and Service has agreed a joint venture with Snorkel Australia to create IPS (Aust) Pty Ltd, to provide a full aftermarket support and service for the aerial lift market.
The new company, to be known as IPSA, will begin trading this month and will take over the management of the Snorkel workshops in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Perth, using them as a base to provide a full product support service for all brands of aerial lift.

Rick Mustillo, of IPS who will head up the new venture as managing director, said: “the remit of the company will be three fold. It will support the Snorkel sales organisation in a variety of ways, including pre-delivery inspections and warranty support.”
“It will offer servicing of all brands of elevating work platforms, including 10-year inspections, workshop-based repairs, rebuilds, breakdown services and preventative maintenance contracts. In addition, IPSA will offer sales and sourcing of a range of multi-brand spare parts.”
“IPSA is a total solutions provider for all EWP users, our aim will be to provide second-to-none product knowledge geared towards doing whatever it takes to sort our customer’s problems. We like to think that if it was made by man, we’ll find it – that’s our parts arm – and it was built by man, we’ll fix it. Simply put we will be selling piece of mind.”
IPSA will also offer EWPA Yellowcard modules and Workcover over 11 metres boom licence training, through its relationship with the Registered Training Organisation Workplace Training Centre.
Snorkel was one of the founding members of the Australian work platform industry and for a large part of that time was market leader. Snorkel was acquired by Tanfield which also owns UpRight in 2007.
