First UK 750 tonner for Ainscough

Ainscough Crane Hire has taken delivery of the UK’s first 750 tonne Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 All Terrain crane.

This new crane is part of an £11.4 million investment to expand its fleet with four new cranes this year. Having already received a 500 tonne crane in January, an additional Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 and a second 500 tonne crane are expected before the end of the year.

The company said the cranes will be used to meet increased demand for its services from within the energy sector, where the construction and maintenance of oil refineries and wind farms form a large part of its workload.

The LTM 1750.9-1 is part of an £11.4 million investment

Gareth Jones, commercial director said: “This investment acknowledges the need to adapt and expand our fleet to meet the changing needs of the marketplace. Ainscough is already the largest heavy crane operator in the country, and the expansion of our fleet means that we can give clients the highest level of service and work on more of the UK’s largest projects. We are very pleased with our new Liebherr and will be deploying it to its first job early next week.”

Richard Everist, managing director of Liebherr GB added: “Ainscough has been a fantastic customer of ours for several years. We are delighted that they have chosen to equip their fleet with another of our top of the range machines. We are sure that it will be an asset to the firm and to their customers in turn.”

This is the first LTM1750-9.1 who is bought and be delivered to an English company. The LTM1750-9.1 from Mammoet is according the its licenses plate a Dutch crane and registered in the Netherlands. The crane did some wind turbine jobs in the U.K and went back to the Netherlands. According to my sources it has either stayed there or it has been shipped the Canada. Both the editor and micheal are right. The unit from Mammoet was first to do with in the U.K, and Ainscough is the first to have one station in the U.K

It is certainly not a "distant second" given the delivery dates of the very first Dutch units.

Both Ainscough and Liebherr provided the information in our article and so far we are unaware of an earlier LTM1750 but very keen to learn of course. If a Mammoet unit has gone to the UK is it now based there?

Factually incorrect. It wasn't the first in the UK it is a very distant second.
