Near miss in North Carolina
Spotted by a reader in the USA a newspaper article and video of a man using an aerial lift to cut down a tree in Outer Banks, North Carolina.
As is all too often the case the man cutting the tree does not allow for the fact that the section of tree he has cut could come back and strike the platform, a Bil-Jax trailer lift.

The top of the tree drops
Luckily the man was not bounced out of the platform, even though he was not wearing a harness or lanyard, and it did not overturn or break the platform off. He did though drop his chain saw from a height of around 14 metres or so.
Definitely one for our Death Wish series.

Let us hope he sees the photos and comments before he tries this stunt again. Life is too short to make a mistake this risky.
