Crane overturn in Florida
A mobile crane overturned during an overnight storm on Monday in Delray Beach, Florida, bringing down power lines and narrowly missing a rail track.
The crane, which looks like a four axle Link Belt truck crane owned by Stewart Crane was apparently left short rigged alongside a building with full bi-fold swingaway with extensions erected . In the early hours of yesterday morning the wind caught the crane an tipped it over backwards as the short rigged outriggers appear to have sunk into the mud.

The crane crew arrived on site and were able to get the crane back on its wheels and eventually lower the bent extension to the ground. No one was hurt in the incident and we understand that power was restored later in the day. The site is managed by Kaufman Lynn Construction.

Crane lads
The back lefthand rigger is fully in and down not half rigged. at least this time Thay used them not the right way. But we have to give them credit for trying.

That's actually a special option available from Link Belt. It's called a "pretzel jib".
Wow - that looks like the perfect crane for lifting round corners !
