Speedway on high

Fans of Speedway Motor Lublin in Poland’s Extra League have not been able to watch live races since Lockdown began in March. That has now changed with races now open to live audiences, however social distancing rules have limited the number of spectators allowed into the stadium, preventing many keen fans from getting seats.

The solution? A fleet of rented aerial work platforms from local company AB Trans, set up outside the ground allowing those that could afford it a great view of the action, while maintaining social distancing.

The unofficial overflow seating

A good use of a platform? Well as long as the machine was set up properly and operated by a fully trained individual - why not? The use of banners on the platforms was not a good idea, however.

Flares and banners probably not a great idea

Only the people in the first basket upwind would appreciate flares. It would be wise to ban flares in future events.
