The send off

In an email sent from the train on the way home he said: “50 people, £32,000, 1,350 metres and plenty of blood, sweat and tears. Some very emotional moments listening to other people's experiences of this debilitating disease. One lady aged 69, lost four stone, lost her husband in 2001, and wanted to leave her wedding ring on the summit. Incredible determination. I was just pleased I made it up and painful knees down - hope the photos come through OK,” Ian.
