The crane's boom was almost fully extended
We have been sent very few details, but understand that the crane, a recent vintage Grove, was over the side with full boom extended when it lost stability. Photos we have received suggest that the outriggers on the side it tipped were not fully extended.

Crane appears to have been set up on half extended 'riggers on all four corners, although the 'rigger nearest us seems to be retracted. Were the locking pins deployed ? As Dave says, the operator's feedback will be crucial. At least there were no injuries on this occasion, but the damage sustained will be considerable.
Another sad reminder that correct outrigger deployment coupled to a 360 degree slew check is necessary, not just advisable.
surprise surprise,,how did we know you would say riggers not extended

It looks like a Grove RT 700 series. I have operated one daily for the past 13 months, and they are SOLID. Only the operator can tell what has happened here
