40 people on the hook

At a time when crane associations have put forward a proposal to stop all lifting of people for fun we have received a strange photograph of 40 people suspended from a telescopic crane.

Crane/people art?

Sadly the photo has been sent anonymously and any attempts to ask for more details have drawn a blank. All we know is that this ‘stunt’ is supposed to have taken place in Reykjavik, Iceland and it looks like something a modern artist would have done.

When? We have no idea whose crane? Again no idea.

Perhaps if you know more you might let us know, the picture shows 40 people suspended from harnesses on long lanyards attached to a lifting beam. It certainly looks dramatic and if done properly would have required a great dale of planning – total load? Around 3.5 to four tonnes?
