Crane tips in Arkansas

A crane operator died yesterday after his crane overturned near the town of Mountain Pine, Arkansas.

The accident occurred while working from an access road to the Ouachita Water Treatment Facility. Local emergency rescue officials claim that the crane, which was lifting a forklift into a water treatment basin, was overloaded and tipped forward over the side of the crane crushing the operators cab against the concrete wall of the basin.

The man, who has not been named died instantly and the recovery will continue today. We have no information on the type of crane, although it is a mobile of some sort and no one has yet sent in any photos from the scene.

UPDATE

The operator has now been named as Roy Case, 68, owner of Roy Case Construction of Little Rock, Arkansas.
