United Rentals acquires Canadian rental company

United Rentals, Inc. has purchased Atlantic Rentals Ltd. Of Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada for a reported price of around $30 million.

Established in 1960, Atlantic Rentals has 16 locations in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. With revenues of approximately $35 million and 140 staff. The company is a full line general rental company offering everything from tools to heavy equipment including powered access; Atlantic holds dealerships for both JLG aerials and Trak telehandlers.

We share a common philosophy of providing customers with expert solutions that are complete and convenient. United Rentals now serves customers in all ten provinces with approximately 100 Canadian branches and 1,250 employees."
