New CEO for AmQuip
US based AmQuip Crane Rental has appointed Charles Howard Snyder as president and chief executive, effective January 17th.
Snyder was previously executive vice president of fleet operations for Sunbelt Rentals, part of the Ashtead group. Snyder joined Sunbelt when it acquired NationsRent where he was chief operating officer. Prior to that he was president of AMECO, a subsidiary of Fluor.

Snyder fills the position left when Frank Bardonaro resigned in August to take up his current post as head of Terex Cranes in North America. Since then Al Bove, chief operating officer has covered the role.
AmQuip chairman Richard Bard, said: “Charles is a seasoned executive with over thirty-five years of domestic and international experience covering all aspects of equipment sales, rentals, product support, logistics and general management. He brings leadership skills that will help us build upon AmQuip’s successes.”
Yuki Narula, an AmQuip representing the company’s largest shareholder, Altpoint Capital Partners added: “Charles has a unique background that includes both fleet management and sales and marketing experience, he has also managed a sizeable crane fleet earlier in his career. We believe that he is the ideal new leader of our management team.”
