New Genie parts depot opens
Terex has started shipping Genie and Terex utilities parts from its new Eastern US distribution centre in Southaven, near Memphis Tennessee.
The 45,500 square metre (500,000 sq ft) facility has started with fast moving Genie parts and will continue to add lines as required. The new warehouse complements the western US centre in North Bend, Washington that opened in 2009, it has now added fast moving Terex Utilities parts to its inventory holdings.
While North Bend remains the main North American parts hub for Genie, the eastern location is intended to provide savings on freight and reduce the distance parts are shipped by up to 44 percent. It will also provide a backdrop support to the North Bend facility on a national basis, to increase availability to 95 percent within two days.
Dave Schille, director of parts and warranties for Terex AWP said: “Expanding parts distribution to an additional location has enabled us to better serve our customers. The shipping process is more efficient than ever, helping to decrease wait time across the nation.”
