AFI upgrades service vans

UK based access rental company AFI-Uplift has purchased 22 Citroën Berlingo Enterprise vans as part of a move to reduce the carbon footprint of its service van fleet.

It plans to replace the remainder of its existing service van fleet by the end of the second quarter 2011.
The 1.6HDi vans are smaller than the company’s existing vans and a good deal cleaner and efficient in terms of CO2 emissions and fuel economy.

The Berlingo Enterprise, includes air conditioning, Bluetooth/USB connectivity and rear parking sensors, AFI has additionally specified ply lining, alarms, full steel bulkheads and roof mounted light bars.

The vans are also fitted with AFI’s telemetry system to monitor vehicle and driver performance. The company says that it provides environmental and safety benefits, ensuring vehicles are driven economically and within the speed limits, in line with its commitment to the health and safety of its staff and that of the public.

Nick Higgins, AFI’s operations director, said: “We have been very pleased with Citroën Dispatch vans. Now, in line with the company’s process of continuous improvement, we have specified Berlingo vans for use by our service engineers to provide further environmental and fuel efficiency gains.”
