High Access takes UK's first TB270

UK based High Access Maintenance has taken delivery of the first 27 metre Ruthmann TB270 truck mounted lift in the UK.

In spite of its 27 metre working height the Steiger TB270 is mounted on a 3.5 tonne Mercedes van type chassis, a first for this category and class of access platform.

The TB270, the first of four 4th generation Ruthmann Steiger TB platforms, the manufacturer has utilised every trick in the book to squeeze the most height from the lightweight structure required to fit a 3.5 tonne truck chassis. The use of high yield steels in the boom and superstructure and its clever design, led to a nomination for a 2010 Swedish Steel Prize.

High Access says that the arrival of the new machine is a welcome boost to its fleet and has already been put to use tackling work in higher reach applications and in locations where larger platforms would struggle to gain access to.

Based in Manchester, High Access has grown systematically over the last 10 years from its humble beginnings as a rope access window cleaning company, developing a wide range of high level services along the way. This new model is the sixth Ruthmann, joining four 20 metre TB220’s a 30 metre T300.
