Three new Multitel products

Italian aerial lift producer Pagliero Multitel plans to launch three new platforms in the next two to three months.

One of the new models will be launched in Italy in late May and two will debut at Vertikal Days in late June.

The company is keeping the details of two of the new products ‘close to its chest’ for the moment. All it will say at this stage about those products which will be unveiled at Vertikal Days is that they will set new benchmarks in their class.

The company is more willing to talk about the first new product launch, it is the 20.5 metre Multitel MX 205. The new 3.5 tonne unit is expected to debut at GIS at the end of May as well as being on show at Vertikal Days on June 22nd.

The new Multitel MX205 has an end mounted platform

One of the features that sets it apart from other Multitel MX platforms is its platform mounting. The MX 205 has an end mounting, rather than the usual pedestal mounting – with the platform and the boom/platform rotation system connecting at the mid-rail level. The result is a flat bottom platform with low level entry and the ability to work closer to under-boom obstacles.

The Multitel MX 205 was developed specifically at the request of Access Industries, Multitel’s UK distributor, although interest from other European markets is already significant.

The new platform has a narrow working footprint, thanks to its in-line/straight line outriggers. Overall width is just 2.1 metres with an overall length of 6.5 metres and overall height of just under 2.4 metres. The 20.5 metre unit offers 8.5 metres of outreach with 200kg platform capacity.

As with other MX models the 205 features two three section booms

Melvyn Else, managing director of Access Industries, says that the new model is an ideal unit to add to almost any rental fleet. “What we are trying to offer rental companies is a range of platforms where each one is the ideal unit for a number of applications as well as being good, quality, general application equipment. The objective is that collectively our range achieves everyone’s dream of ‘The Perfect Platform’, albeit achieved from a range rather than a single model”.
