John Gillingham, Crane Veteran dies
John Gillingham, a veteran of the UK crane industry died suddenly on the 29th December 2004 from a heart attack, he was 73.
John was well known in the crane industry, being a prominent figure within NCK/Ransomes & Rapier, BSP/British Steel Pilling, Marion cranes and excavators and imported UNIC truck mounted cranes into the UK well before Kato and Tadano arrived on these shores. His final job was importing HAP cranes until he retired around ten years ago.
John’s wife, Joyce predeceased him but he leaves behind his children, Simon, Matthew, Roger and Fiona.
The funeral service is arranged for Monday, January 17th at 2.00pm at Ipswich Crematorium, West Chapel, Ipswich.
