Effer sales up 18 percent
The Bologna-based knuckle boom crane producer, Effer, has announced an 18-percent year-on-year sales increase in 2004 to €47.9 million (UK£33.4 million). The company reported the delivery of 2,232 cranes during the period – a record for the company.
Commenting on the figures, Effer managing director, Roberto Meneghinello, said that he sees the results as a “strong sign of a new company direction. Our order backlog at the end of December was equal to 20 percent of total sales in 2003 and 60 percent more than this time last year.”
Effer expects to expand sales by a further 15 percent in 2005, which it hopes to achieve with the introduction of a series of new models to be launched in the coming months. The new line will comprise eight models, the first two of which, falling in the two and four-tonne/metre class, will be launched in Spring.
2005 and Effer’s 40th year in business will also be marked by the opening of a new production facility and company headquarters in Minerbio, Italy, which Effer says are scheduled for competition by the end of the year.
